Giving Spring the Cold Shoulder

Now that spring is officially here I can finally pull out all of my easy breezy tops!Lately I’ve been into anything that makes me feel carefree and is simple to put together.

In essence this look is a basic red top and jeans, but the cold shoulder adds a nice touch of fun and makes it perfect for spring. I also love this top’s bold shade of red. When we think of spring colors we usually think of softer, lighter shades. You know, pale pinks and lavender, but this bright red is definitely something else! Instead of pairing this top with a bolder colors I decided to keep is simple by wearing regular jeans and tan accents. Just because the top is bold doesn't mean the whole outfits needs to scream at the world!

As we stroll into spring look for pieces that make you feel care-free and are simple to put together. It’s a sure-fire way to make your spring truly easy breezy!

Simple Remix

The official first day of spring soon approaches and I’ve been forcing myself to look for ways to mix up my wardrobe. Yeah, I could add more color, but sometimes just switching up how I use the pieces I own and  love is all I need.

Case in point, this tan blazer. I bought it a while back specifically to wear to the  office, but lately I find myself wearing it out on the weekends for lunch or to dinner with my friends. I mean, why not? When I wear it to the office, it is usually wear it with black trousers and a black top. Pretty basic, right? The good news, is that it's lightweight and simple to thrown on or take off if it gets too warm. So the idea of wearing the blazer more often is definitely appealing. Here, I pair the blazer with a basic chambray button up from Glam Envy. In my opinion, chambray is absolutely season-less. Whether it is dark or light chambray, I can pretty much wear chambray everyday! The jeans are my good ol’ go-to Rock Star Jeans from Old Navy. When I saw they come in one of my favorite colors, olive green, I had to have them. I also have them in black, white and blue (of course) but for this look I wanted to do something different. Something that said, "I see you spring! I see you!"

The three pieces I chose for this look are simple. Sometimes remixing pieces you already have can make you  feel like we have a whole new wardrobe. Just like spring, it’s all about making what’s old new again!

It was a Gray Day

Sometimes there are colors that stick with you for a while. Lately it has been grey. Maybe it's because it took so long for spring to start? I have been into gray jeans, gray tops, gray sweaters, you name it! Gray is perfect for all seasons. I am able to pair most pieces in my closet that are gray with anything. It's so easy! Which is why I love it!  And now that spring has officially sprung I am excited to play with this color even more in the new season. I am not usually someone to wear monotones, but with gray it just works so well!

Ready for Spring

Usually southern California has lovely weather most of the year. Recently we have had so much rain. As a matter of fact, the whole state has had more rain than usual. I couldn't be more ready for the sun to shine and the flowers to bloom!

Whenever I wear white it makes me feel like I am ready for brunch or a garden tea party with my girlfriends. Lately I have been looking for any reason to wear white so I can channel that specific energy!  When I found this chambray blazer from Banana Republic I knew I had to have it! And it is double breasted... YES PLEASE! When I saw this blazer I instantly knew what I was going to pair it with. All white was the definite choice. Now, this doesn’t mean that I won't pair it with other fabulous pieces in my closet, like all black (for a nighttime look of course!), but there is something about chambray and a solid color that just speaks to me. No no...it yells "YOU ARE READY FOR SPRING!"
