The Weddington Way

I was recently approached by Weddington Way for a Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor style challenge. The challenge was to create a Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor look for a winter wonderland wedding. Now, I have been to many weddings in my day but never have I attended a Winter Wonderland wedding! However, the idea sounds amazing! I am thinking soft colors, warm drinks and good food!

I chose this neutral chiffon dress because there is so much that can be done with a neutral. Besides, if the attention should be on the bride, then the wedding party should compliment the bride not over shadow the bride.

I chose to pair this beautiful dress with simple but very elegant jewelry, simple shoes, and a light pink lipstick. Since the dress has a very soft and ethereal feel, it makes sense to have simple accessories. If it were me, I would want my wedding party to look elegant and be confident in what they are standing up in.

Although its not yet my time, I think having a Winter Wonderland wedding is a wonderful idea! There are so many different ways winter can be interpreted and the winter brides will create their own Winter Wonderland.

Long Weekend Lunch...and Shopping

One of the best things about a long weekend is that I always get a chance to catch up with my friends. We all have busy lives, so weekends and long weekends are usually the only chance I get to catch up with my girls, especially my girls from home in San Diego. So true to form, I spent a day with my best friend doing what we do best-shopping and having lunch! I wouldn't have it any other way!

As we get older, the time we spend together is more and more coveted because our lives continue to go in opposite paths. She is a working wife and mother with a new baby, and I am a busy traveling instructor moonlighting as a style blogger. Spending the day with her was exactly what I needed as I get ready for another busy week.

I found this grey sweater recently at ZARA and I thought it would be perfect for my coming trip to Chicago. Luckily, the weather in L.A has been cool enough for sweaters, so I decided to pull it out before my trip! I saw these Grey pumps at the JustFab Flagship store and fell in love! They are perfect because there is a slight platform so they are easier to walk in. I have recently seen some of my favorite bloggers use grey in a lot of their looks so I was inspired. I decided to pair basic grey and black with a touch of gold because I always have to have a touch of simple glam!

Prepping For Winter

Soon I will be traveling to Chicago to visit one of my dearest friends! WOO HOO I am so excited! I have never experienced a true winter, so I am slightly frightened that I will freeze!

I asked my friend to send me a list of pieces she thinks this SoCal Glamazon will need in order to not freeze her butt off! Here is what she came up with!

Today I purchased a pair CuddlDuds (ON SALE NOW!)  from Khols and I love them! They will be perfect to wear under my jeans and leggings when I am in the snow! I also picked up this great blue coat from Old Navy (ON SALE NOW!) that I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with!

I don't nearly have enough true winter pieces for the trip, so to my glamazons who live in the snow, what else will I need (panic voice!)? Help Please!

Plaid at Night

I have had this plaid top in my closet since Christmas and I love it. Honestly, I have worn it once, so when I saw my fellow blogger Mel, from Girl and the Polka Dot, I knew I needed to pull it back out!

I feel like when I wear plaid I look a bit...well, un-girly, but anyone who knows me knows that I will glam anything up with make-up and jewelry...like always and a true Glamazon!

P.S. sorry the pictures are blurry...

Back to Normal

Top: H&M
Jeans: Old Navy
Sandals: JustFab
Lipgloss: ULTA
Watch (old): Michael Kor
Sunglasses: Ann Taylor Loft

Now that the holiday season is officially over, we can get back to our normal lives. This morning I spent the day with my aunt going to a matinee in the morning, shopping and lunch in the afternoon, and a movie on demand in the evening. It was perfect!

I have to be honest and say I took a sigh of relief and joy on January 1st, because I know each New Year is a chance to start over fresh and continue doing the things we love so much!

I bought this top from H&M during the holiday rush, and I had been dying to wear it. It has been so chilly lately, so a thin t-shirt was not ideal. It’s starting to warm up again, so a day of movies and shopping was perfect!

1st Anniversary

Well it has officially been one year since I started this blog! I am so excited to say I have come such a long way! I went from using my little point and shoot camera, to working with a photographer,  pasting links to my posts, to now using real affiliate links!

I have to say that my goal for 2014 was to really push myself and try to elevate my clothing choices. And by elevate, I don’t mean buy the most expensive pieces, but really put more thought into getting dressed in the morning… not just on the weekends…

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the past year. Just look at the growth!

At the end of every year, I look back on what I have done and look for an opportunity for growth. Without fully understanding the importance of the journey you’re on, you will have a hard time seeing where you have come from. I always remind myself that the most important thing about where you end up is how you got there.

In 2015 plan to take The Simple Glamazon even further than it has gone. I hope to reach even more Glamazons and help them create a wardrobe full of stylish reasonably priced looks!

Thanks for reading!!
