Everyday while driving to and from to work, I like to take that time to myself and reflect on my day. I think about what I have done, what I will do, and what I would like to do. This week one of the conversations I had with myself was based on empowerment. I asked myself, "When do I feel most empowered?"

I feel most empowered on two occasions. First, when all my bills are paid! I pay the bills, set money aside in savings, and I still have money to enjoy! For someone reason, on payday I love the feeling of clicking submit on my on-line banking and having the peace of mind that I made it. Second, when I'm in a really great body contouring dress. I am very proud of all my curves, so when I find a dress that "just works" I feel most empowered. I feel like I should be stomping through a crowd of people as if I was walking a runway.

This dress is from REBDOLLS. I have written about clothes from REBDOLLS before, but I have to say this dress is my new favorite! I was weary about wearing brown but after wearing this dress, brown will be my color for fall! It is so simple and so glamorous. Perfect for a glamazon. I also chose this dress because it could easily be dressed up or down. I can definitely see myself wearing this to work with blazer or on the weekend with flats. I always look for pieces that can be worn so many different ways. Bodycon dresses are prefect for this reason.

Try to find dress styles that make you feel comfortable and empowered. That way you can stomp the runway each time you wear it!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Sometimes when there is a long weekend the four work days remaining seem so long. I wonder why that is? If you are anything like me, you have begun to think about what your outfit will be for a weekend filled with dinner and drinks!

I found this great top at H&M and I love it. As the weather starts to get cooler this open shoulder top is still right on trend. I feel seductive with out the worry of carrying a light sweater when the day starts to cool down. I paired it with my favorite Rockstar Jeans from Old Navy. I love these jeans because no matter what color I get them in  (I have a few) the fit is always great! I have to admit that I am a HUGE fan of tailoring your jeans. I would recommend buying these, then have the waist tailored for the most perfect fit. You wont regret it!

Hopefully you all have started to plan what your look will be for your exciting weekend plans!

Look towards the Future

Usually at the beginning of the year I like to think of things I am going to change for the new year. This time, I have decided to start a little early. Instead of waiting until the new calendar year I have decided to start at the new birth year. So for my birthday I took time to myself to think about a few things I would like to improve on for this birth year. GOOD NEWS: I have 12 months to work it out!

I found this great top from Banana Republic (ON SALE NOW!) and I couldn't wait to share it with you all! Summer seemed to have started later this year, so a lot of the stores I like to frequent have summer pieces on sale currently! And, the best part is that I can still wear them! WOO HOO!

SUGGESTION: Use this time to stock up on pieces that are season-less. For instance, t-shirts, tanks, and jeans! Pay attention to End of Summer Sales or Summer Ending Sales! #STOCK UP

Lead with your Heart

There once was a time when I had a conversation with someone close to me about doing an internal check on where your heart is. It was a reminder to think about those around you. A reminder to think about what you have and ask yourself "What can you do to help someone in need?". It doesn't have to be over-the-top and extravagant; but meaningful and have a effect on someone or something

Every year for my birthday, I do a Birthday Good Deed. Now, I preface this by saying I try to doing something nice for someone or something whenever I can. However, as birthday gift to myself I do something on the day for someone else. Now, this year I was out of town on my actual birthday so it was the day after.

I saw a man laying on the ground as I drove to a morning class. When I saw him he looked like he had not eaten or drank anything in days. I pulled my car over, got out and asked him if he was hungry. There was a sandwich place close, so I thought I could get him a big fat sandwich! All he wanted was a Coke. When I asked if he was sure, he said yes. So, I walked over to the 7-11 and bought him two 20oz Cokes and a 32oz water. When I gave him the drinks he said thank you and was satisfied. I also gave him a five dollar bill to hopefully get something to eat later. And, however he chooses to use the money is his decision. It is not my place to tell a person how to use money when I am willing to give it blindly. Once I passed him the drinks and five dollar bill, I got in my car and drove off. It was a very fast interaction.

I write all of this to say, think about where you are in your life. There is always someone who has it worse. And, there is always a way to lend a helping hand or be a shinning light. Always try to lead with your heart.
