Find the Color

I have always found something daring about wearing the color white. I am drawn to things that other people are weary of. We hear things like, "I always get dirty when I wear white" or "Don't wear white after Labor Day" and my favorite "White is not slimming." I like to throw all caution to the wind and wear white any chance I get. I find it liberating!

The best part about wearing white is that all other colors will pop! It makes putting together a fun and daring outfit even more exciting because you have a clean slate to work with. For this look, I knew I wanted to have a pop of color so I decided to wear red earrings and a red handbag. It would have been easy to throw on a pair of bright colored heels or booties, but by keeping the basics of the outfit simple I am able to add the glam with pieces that are easily changeable.

Simple in a Black Maxi Dress

Some of my favorite pieces in my closet are dresses. I wear them to work, on the weekend, and anywhere else I can think of! Dresses are so easy to wear and when I find the right one, I live in it as much as I can. I also try to buy it in as many different colors as possible!

This black maxi dress from Shop Soloe has fast become one of my favorites! It's color and form-fitting cut make it super easy to wear and simple to dress up or down. I debated about wearing it with a statement necklace and dressier heels, or even a pair of sneakers with just a great pair of sunnies. But in true Simple Glamzon form, I kept the dress the focal piece for the look. So I decided to pair this dress with some open-toe booties and a handbag that are both neutral. Having a dress that provides a lot of versatility makes for a perfect addition to your closet. I can guarantee that you'll get plenty of wear out of it. photo Courtney_zpsa7ea05a2.png

Soft Pink Blazer

Sometimes I feel like Valentine’s Day has so much unnecessary pressure to look sweet and feminine. Don't get me wrong, I love a great a dress and heels, but it can be easy to forget all the other ways  to look cute and ladylike.

Take this blazer from Banana Republic for instance. The soft pink color makes it perfect for work, a day date, or an early dinner, while still being soft and feminine. When I saw this blazer I was unsure of the color at first but because of my constant need to have different colored blazers for work, I decided to give it a try. After playing dress up and pairing it first with an all-black outfit, a brown midi dress, and then this all white ensemble, I knew I had made the right choice!

Sometimes you'll find pieces that are not traditionally feminine, but don't be afraid to switch up the color or pair it with something in your closet that will soften the look.

Different Kind of Valentine

Its is easy to go to dinner and/or a movie for Valentine's Day, but what about a day date to a museum, or a picnic in the park? I think it is important to think of new ways to spend time with your special someone. It's easy to stay in or go to dinner, but what about taking advantage of the 12 hours we have in the day when the sun is up and shinning bright? This Valentines Day do something different with your special someone. Go to a park, on a hike, to the aquarium, take pottery class, or even go to the local community garden! Hopefully doing something out of your normal Valentine's Day routine will re-ignite the fire in your love life!
