I have made a point to take vacations and make time to get away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday rat race. It is so easy to get caught up in what we think we need to prove in order to show success. So much of what we were taught as children defines success as what others perceive of usor what we have to show off.
This time on my trip to Puerto Rico I really thought about staying and abandoning what I know here in LA and maintaining an island lifestyle. I mean, who wouldn't want to live on a beautiful island drink piƱa coladas and mojitos all day?! This made me think to myself, "Could I be happy with a similar lifestyle?" Would I be able to leave what I consider to be luxuries and conveniences for simplicity and possible less stress? This is The Simple Glamazon, right? Shouldn't a successful lifestyle be simple too?
The truth is, I know I could make anything work if I truly put my mind to it. I'm this way with most things in life. So this creates a new question for me to work on finding an answer to.
How will I define success for me? What works for me may not work for most, but that's OK.
Take some time and think about what you define as successful then try your best to live in your success story.
