Plaza Theatre

Happy Friday!!!

During my recent vacation I took some time to go visit my family in Texas. I come from a very very big family and my father’s oldest sister lives in El Paso. Each year we take time to come together for three days and catch up. As always, it was a lot of fun!

This year I took advantage of some free time and some new scenery. The Plaza Theatre is an El Paso landmark in downtown. The Plaza Theatre been open since 1930 and shows productions ranging from Broadway plays to musical concerts. It still has its original vibe and made a perfect backdrop for my impromptu photo shoot!

As the Simple Glamazon, I have to make sure I am finding pieces that fit into my budget. Sometimes I have to take a different approach to finding what I want. I had been eyeing a few midi skirts, but I was having trouble finding what I wanted. So, in true Simple Glamazon fashion, I made a pattern and I made one myself! I like to fancy myself a closet DIY-er! The midi skirt has a 50s vintage feel to it, so the Plaza Theatre was the perfect backdrop to showcase the new skirt. I am very happy with how the skirt turned out!

What do you do when you are looking for something and you can’t find it?

Going to Work

As much as I love clothes, I wake up each morning and dread getting ready for work because I never know what to wear. I’m sure I am not the only one who thinks this thought each morning! Because I like things to be simple and easy, wearing a solid color (usually black) with a cardigan, blazer or sweater usually does the trick! Of course I glam it up with jewelry, accessories, and make-up but for some reason getting to the actual outfit can be tricky!

What do you like to wear to work?

Staycation Getaway

Sometimes when we get vacation time we forget we can stay in our own wonderful cities and take advantage of the activities to do in the cities we live in. A common reaction to vacation, is to hop on an airplane and go sightseeing in a new and different city. Getting to see new places in the world will always be great, but sometimes it's just as fun to see great things in your own city!
Since I'm still relatively new to Los Angeles my favorite thing to do when I have time off from work is to create my own staycation! There are still so many sites to see, bars to have happy hour in, and restaurants to try! One of the great things about Los Angeles is that there is so much history here, that in 3 years I haven't even scratched the surface a great things to see!

This past week and I went to the LA County Museum of Arts (LACMA). And, what I didn't know is that be the La Brea tar pits were right next door! How great is that? Taking a day to explore Los Angeles and discover all of its amazing sites never gets old! It always makes me fall in love with the city even more!

Life is a Beach

Happy Thursday Everyone!

One of the many great things about living in southern California is that we can go to the beach whenever we feel like it! Southern California usually has great weather so we look for reasons to find ourselves somewhere between the waves and the sand.

I took some time off to go see family, but before I do so a beach day with my good friend Sara was needed! We spent the day laughing, eating, gossiping, and ended the day with drinks on the boardwalk and a doughnut from Randy’s on our way home! What more could a girl ask for??? It was 70 degrees and a perfect day to spend with a friend at the beach!

How are you spending your vacation?
