That Pink Door

Jumpsuit: ASOS//Sunnies: QUAY Australia//Watch: Michael Kors//Necklace: Old (similar HERE)// Handbag: JustFab

Part of living in Southern California means you have a right of passage to visit one of the most coveted places of relaxation-Palm Springs. Palm Springs is a desert filled with great restaurants, amazing architecture, and even more amazing shopping. One of my best friends and I decided to have a girls weekend out in Palms Springs, so one Friday after work I took the drive out to meet her. It was wonderful. We slept in, had delicious meals and got some quality shopping and gossip time in.

I was really looking forward to seeing all of the super amazing architecture there. Palm Springs is known for having some of the most beautiful mid-century modern homes. So I of course did some research and found this house with the most beautiful door! This home is known as 'That Pink Door' and is in the most quiet quaint suburban neighborhood. It is simple and gorgeous!

What I love about traveling; whether it be a long or short trip, is that there are always such great places to see. Every city has it's own little gems that make for the best photo-ops! I promised myself as a young girl that I would see the world. Palm Springs may not be too far away but it is the perfect simple town with a lot of glam!

Jumpsuit Addiction

Okay, so in my last post I talked about going overboard with too much print. Well, I forgot to mention that it is totally acceptable when the print is on a fabulous jumpsuit!

If you've been following my style journey for the past four years you most definitely know I absolutely love a jumpsuit and a romper! There is something so wonderful about one piece of clothing that makes me feel chic and glamorous, and is so simple to wear.

I wanted to make sure I was able to give you some style inspiration for mother's day this Sunday. We usually spend the day with our mothers having breakfast or brunch. So why not make sure we look great while we sip champagne!

Gone Gingham

Top: Banana Republic//Jeans: Old Navy//Handbag: JustFab//Sandals: JS by Jessica Simpson//Sunnies: Free People//Earrings: Loren Hope//Watch: Michael Kors//Necklace: Old

When I first started seeing pieces in gingham I was a little cautious. I thought to myself, "Could this work for me?" Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of gingham and was happy to see one amazingly cute gingham dress after the next!  But for some reason I just couldn't find anything that worked for me. So I looked and browsed until I finally came across this super cute off-the-shoulder top at Banana Republic. BTW, Banana Republic has been my go-to whenever I need to find something that’s classy and super stylish.

At first sight I wasn't too sure about this top. I mean, I was dying to find something in  gingham, but I was still struggling with the whole idea. There I stood in the dressing room, posing back and forth trying to picture how I could make this work. Prints can be very tricky. There’s always the problem of going too far and wearing too much of one print. Then there’s the option of pairing it with another more subtle print. Because I wanted to make sure this gingham top gets the spotlight, I decided to pair it with a solid color. Viola! Gingham gets center stage and the outfit ends up looking bold and balanced!

If you’re thinking about adding prints to your wardrobe, put some thought into what you’re trying to showcase. Is it a single part of the look or the whole look itself? Think about the accessories you might add and how they’ll accent your outfit. Remember, subtlety is key when working with something as lively as prints.

Gingham can most definitely be a tricky animal, but with the right amount of care and planning it can really take your wardrobe to the next level!

Green with Comfort

Jumpsuit: REBDOLLS//Belt: MeronaxTarget//Sunglasses:Free People//Watch: Michael Kors//Earrings: Banana Republic

I don't have too much to say about this jumpsuit, outside of it being FREAKIN' GREAT! Comfort and style don't always go together so when I saw this jumpsuit on the REBDOLLS website I added it to my cart fast.

This jumpsuit is different from other jumpsuits in my closet. The level of comfort is beyond! It is almost like I am wearing pajamas. Imagine wearing your most comfortable pajamas all day and still looking like a million bucks. Who doesn't want to stay in pajamas all day long, right? I also love that it fits right into my need of having pieces that I can dress up or down. Having pieces in my closet that are super versatile makes shopping less stressful because I know I will get plenty of use out of it.

Head over to REBDOLLS and see what you can find!
