As we get closer and closer to the official first day of summer, I have to remind myself to pull out all of my dresses! Summers in LA can be unbearable so knowing that my closet is stocked with pieces that will help me stay cool and remain stylish is perfect.

Not only does LolaGetts have amazing athleisure, but they make dresses too! I'm so ready for the hot weather that is fast approaching because I know this dress will get plenty of use.

Yoga Pants with Lola Getts

 Leggings: c/o Lola Getts

This year I am focusing on trying to realign myself and my priorities. I started to realize when certain things in my life that I can control are aligned or in order, the things I would like to control will most likely align as well. So I started going to yoga 2 or 3 times a week. I originally started going to yoga because I needed something that would help me de-stress. I didn't realize that I would learn so much about myself and find a lot of parallels with practicing yoga and life.

In class they remind us that we are there for a reason. We are there to help heal ourselves from within and to allow ourselves to go through the journey. Everybody's journey is so different. There are good days and bad days. Days when I feel like I can go in there and hit every posture perfectly and there are days when I go in and feel like it's a struggle to even walk through the door. All in all it has truly been a journey. I've seen my anxiety lessen and I've seen a difference in how I handle specific situations. I'm not a calm person by nature so 90 minutes 2 or 3 times a week really gives me a space to focus and allow myself to relax.

Now I would be crazy if I said I didn't think thoroughly about what I put on each time I went to yoga. Lately I have been wearing nothing but my favorite leggings from  Lola Getts. They are so comfortable and the fit is unreal. The quality is insane and they're so versatile. I've been wearing them for all of my workouts and even on the weekends. They ALWAYS have really cute patterns. Recently I have been obsessed with the black metallic leggings and my pink pair! I have been wearing them all over town. OH! And I also really love my Cabernet pair!  I LITERALLY wash them twice a week so I can wear them to two different workouts! You may have heard me say this on Instagram but I absolutely love these leggings! If you are looking for top quality workout clothes then this is the brand for you. When have you ever seen  plus athleisure that is not only fashionable, high quality, and functional!!??

The Suit that Set Me Free

Swimsuit: Aerie//Sunnies: Quay//Watch: Michael Kors//Earrings: Gorjana

Spring has sprung so I guess that means it's time to get your swimsuits out, right? There are so many women I know who hate swimsuit season. Even when I say the word, "swimsuit" I can see the hair on the back of their necks stand up. I always try to remind them that being in a swimsuit should be liberating! No matter what your body type is, you should feel free. Being free in my own skin is one of the best feelings ever.

Now, I would be lying if I said that I woke up every morning feeling confident and free. I surely don't. But I try to stay active and live a balanced lifestyle which helps promote my confidence. I recently completed my 3rd round of Whole30. Two years ago a friend of mine introduced me to Whole30 and I have tried to incorporate it into my lifestyle since. Whole30 is not meant to be sustainable, but it is meant to bounce your body back into its natural state. In a nutshell it is 30 days with no sugar, no dairy, no legumes, and no grains. Sounds nuts, right!? When I first attempted this, two years ago, I thought to myself, "No cheese? I can't!" But the 30 days went by so fast that by the end I didn't have a desire for much diary.

Fast forward 2 years and I've completed Whole30 for the third time. Honestly this time around it felt harder and I didn't have the same results as I did previously but I feel amazing. And THAT is what it is about. Confidence is all in how you feel and I feel free.  No one can take that away from me because I earned it.

For me there is nothing better than finding a great swimsuit that helps to display my confidence. This gem is from Aerie. I bought it back in January for a vacation and never wore it. The good news is that it is ON SALE currently! Here's what I love: I'm able to adjust the straps tight or loosen them when I need to. There is plenty of room in the places I need it and it's super comfy! Comfy, cute, and easy to wear. What else do you need??

When you look for new swimsuits be sure to look for something that will promote your confidence and help you feel free.
