2016 has been very good to me. Every year I make a vision board (don't judge it works!) and for 2016 the biggest item on my board has been growing The Simple Glamazon. Thankfully, in 2016 there has been so much progress. I started working with a great photographer at Lemon Heart Photography, spoke at Bloomingdale's for the their Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter events, begun filming the first of many videos, and started developing relationships with brands. I couldn't have asked for more!
I want to make sure that all of my faithful followers know that I am VERY grateful for all of the support and I am looking forward to giving you more style inspiration in 2017!
In order to transition into the new year gracefully, here are my favorite looks from 2016!
As we get closer to year end, I stop and think about what an amazing year 2016 has been. One of the things I told myself I was going to do in 2016 was share my blessings with those around me. This year I helped out some family members, helped a friend with their children, took two friends on vacation, made donations to Goodwill, and volunteered at the Los Angeles Food Bank. Usually at the end of the year I think about what I can do to make my life better, but this past year I found it more fulfilling to help make someone else's life better. My contributions may not have been huge, but hopefully they had an impact on those around me.
2016 has also been a great year for The Simple Glamazon! Sometimes I loose sight of how far things have come because I am always thinking about where I want to be. But, when I stop to look back at what I have accomplished this year I am very proud of myself and I hope I can continue to progress.
Ok ok...enough about my year. Let's talk about this red HOT top from Perfectly Priscilla! Now, what is there not to love about anything that is off the shoulder?!! I happen to love anything that will tastefully show off my décolletage. I also love how this top has a 50's vintage feel to it! It was an easy pair with these leggings from Forever21+ and booties I found at Nordstrom from Athena Alexander. In this outfit I am ready to hit the town or at least the after Christmas sales!
OK, so let me tell you about this jacket. I had been looking for a sequin bomber jacket since I saw a recent post by Nicole from Curves on Budget. Now, if you have seen my last few posts you definitely know that if it shimmers and sparkles, I AM ALL OVER IT!
I was recently in Washington for work, and I was doing my usual peruse around the Alderwood Mall and of course stopped into Forever21. When I went up stairs to the Forever21+ section I saw this jacket! It was like a movie. I heard angles singing, and there was a spotlight shinning right on the jacket. I don't even think I walked over to it. I think I floated!
Long story short, I tried it on right there (I couldn't even wait for a fitting room) and I had to have it! It was perfect. Flashy and perfect! LOL.
With all the chaos of Christmas shopping I have been doing my best to try to lay low and make sure any time I have to leave my apartment, I am comfortable! Any chance I get to throw on jeans and a comfortable top I am a happy lady! With all that said, comfy doesn't mean frumpy either!
This great plaid top is from Perfectly Priscilla. I love it because it is easy to wear and still glam! This simple plaid top has a sequin pocket for some added glam. HELLO DETAILS! Its the perfect top for the simply glam!
Now I know some of you have waited until the last minute to look for gifts for some of the special people in your life. So, with that in mind I wanted to give some great ideas for gifts for those special people. Here are some no fail gifts that any person breathing would appreciate!
As we get closer and closer to NYE I cant help but think about what my options will be for this wonderful night on the town! NYE is a night of fun, laughter, festive drinks, and creating unforgettable memories with your closest friends.
I like to think to that the way you bring in the new year and the company you keep will be a reflection on what your upcoming year will be like. I am not sure if there is any truth in my theory, but it forces me to put some thought into what my plans will be to ring in the New Year!
This romper from debshops is perfect for the night out on the town with friends or the fabulous NYE soiree you have been invited to! It is easy to wear, fun, fabulous, and fiscally friend!
When I think about wearing anything floral, I instantly think of pieces that are timeless. Floral patterns can be worn no matter the season, but for some reason we see a lot of floral in spring and summer. Why not fall and winter? There is always a need to be flirty and floral no matter the season.
I am lucky enough to live in a place that doesn't have too many seasons (if any at all) so this maxi dress from GlamEnvy is perfect for those moments when I want to feel whimsical in the winter!
For some reason when I think of the holidays I instantly think of glitter and shimmer! This dress from debshops is no different. It is so fun and the length gives me an opportunity to show off my legs. Usually my comfort zone is knee length but I decided to stretch myself this time. And why not? Sometimes the added flare can you in the dress!
